# Nestour GPS release notes

Every version of Nestour GPS, newest first, from the first line of code on 24 October 2026 up to 0.15.0. 🆕 marks the latest release.

## 🆕 0.15.0 · 5 November 2026

- 🆕 **The beta key.** The beta now needs your personal beta key. Paste it once in Setup → 🔑 Keys & AI → 🎟 Beta key → Save, and the app starts again in the beta. The key is checked on the device, without going online, and ends with the beta on 28 February 2027.
- 🆕 **Without a key** the app is a simple GPS: the standard map, your position, the instruments, speed signs, recording a trip, and your data. Searches, place info, planning, routes, turn by turn, other maps, the 3D map and logbook exports say « This needs your beta key ». Your data is never touched: enter the key and everything is back.

## 0.14.0 · 5 November 2026

- **The beta edition**: 10 trips kept, 10 routes, 10 plans and 25 favourites. At a limit the app offers to remove the oldest (it names it) or to see the licences; it never deletes anything on its own.
- **App languages in the beta**: English, French, Chinese and Finnish. Descriptions and facts still come in every language.
- **Export keys file** waits for a licence; **Import keys file** stays.
- **Help → Send feedback** opens the form on nestour.app with the version, platform and language filled in.
- **New versions**: once a day the app asks nestour.app whether a new version is out. Only the version number goes along, and you can turn it off.
- **Light or dark**: follow the device, or stay light or dark.
- **Clearer lists**: routes, plans and past trips get the name in bold across the whole width, with the buttons below.

## 0.13.3 · 5 November 2026

- **Export keys file** (Setup → 🔑 Keys & AI): hand this device's keys to your other phones and tablets in one file.
- The beta install guide in French, with every key explained.

## 0.13.2 · 5 November 2026

- **Automatic zoom**: Off, By speed, or Smart (the default): close up in town, the whole search radius on the motorway, and nearer before a junction or a ★★★ place.
- **Lanes and exit signs** in the turn-by-turn banner, from 1 km before an exit: one arrow per lane, the lanes to take in blue, the sign with its number, road and towns, in the country's colours.

## 0.13.1 · 5 November 2026

- **Descriptions in your language more often**: a place with no article in your language gets the one in its own language (German in Hamburg) before English, translated by your AI.
- Setup → 🔎 Places → **Translate other languages with my AI**, on by default.

## 0.13.0 · 2–5 November 2026

- **Linux**: an AppImage for Omarchy, Arch and other x86_64 distributions.
- **Hiking and winter maps**: Mapy.com (trails, ski runs, huts, all of Europe) and France's IGN SCAN 25 at 1:25,000.
- **Speed signs that read the whole road ahead**: with a TomTom key, the guided route brings the limit of each stretch, right even when OpenStreetMap is down.
- **Your own map search server** (Overpass), asked first, with the public servers as backup.
- A **data limit in money** instead of MB; **show or hide** each instrument; contacts from **the phone and Nextcloud**; **TomTom** and **Mappy** as route choices; simulation at **×1 and ×5**.

## 0.12.6 · 2 November 2026

- The sign wheel gets tighter: the signs overlap a little, the current one on top, the edges fading.
- A finished simulation parks the vehicle and clears its arrival time.

## 0.12.5 · 2 November 2026

- Button sizes now reach tabs, lists, dialogs and menus; routes, plans and trips **by place** go down to the city.
- The simulator searches for places as it goes (every 30 s to 5 min), and its km counter stops during pauses.
- A trip started while parked leaves the way the car last drove; confirmations before removing a key; 65 languages.

## 0.12.4 · 2 November 2026

- **Arrival times** at the next stop and the destination in the map's bottom strip; the map buttons grow with the button size.

## 0.12.3 · 2 November 2026

- **The trip computer**: total km, « From reset » with its own average consumption, « Since departure » always in sight, and the range from your dashboard counting down to the next fill-up.

## 0.12.2 · 2 November 2026

- **✎ From the car**: type in the odometer and the dashboard figures, and the trip computer counts on from there.

## 0.12.1 · 2 November 2026

- Speed signs that **stay calm at slip roads**: the road you are on counts double, and a sudden drop while you are still fast waits 15 seconds.
- **📍 I'm here**: mark the next stop as reached when the GPS hesitates indoors.
- The **sign wheel** of 3, 4 or 6 signs; **preview the route in the app** with km, time, traffic, fuel and cost.
- **🚆 Swiss departures** (train, boat, tram, bus) near a place, and IGN maps for France and Spain.

## 0.12.0 · 1–2 November 2026

- A **voice button** on the map: off, beeps, spoken.
- Button sizes **S to XL** and a **12 h or 24 h clock**.
- **Share this trip** with its logbook and trip file, and export all trips in one tick.
- Routes that start in the direction the car faces, so a reversed trip no longer begins with a U-turn.

## 0.11.3 · 31 October 2026

- Routes, plans, past trips and favourites **by place**: country, region and city.
- A **cover and back page** on every PDF.

## 0.11.2 · 31 October 2026

- One country in every language: « Suisse » and « Switzerland » are the same place.

## 0.11.0 · 31 October 2026
